Imo it was much better than sc2 battle. I just went to load up scr and i had to do an update. Every time i tried to turn them on, the entire game would crash and I had to file a bug report. Kudos to blizzard for fixing it faster than I expected. Still lots of other bugs though. In terms of chat channels, why aren't we thrown into some lobby as soon as we log in with the hundreds plus thousands? I agree it's not as communal as I'd expected.
The profiles are all sorts of bungled at the moment, portraits, APM count etc. More ladder games seem to be registering now for whatever reason at least. The engine is a bunch of workarounds on top of workarounds to achieve the desired effects you see in-game, so tampering with one thing can have undesirable side effects somewhere else. This is evident for example when they tried to fix dragoons getting stuck and the valkyries stop attack glitch, but they had to revert it because it affected unit behavior in other parts of the game this was at the beginning of 1.
Maybe it is too much to ask them to remake the game from the ground up without affecting the gameplay, so they HAVE to stick to the old engine and this makes it hard to exact changes. Also, they recently said that they are changing things server side you will see differences in profiles, mmr changes, matchmaking, etc.
When you join a custom game, the default race is Terran. It used to be Random before pre R it's absolutely amazing. When dragging the mini map to the right side of the map there is dead space where the cursor can't go further. On the left side this distance is less and is almost flush against the edge. R beta the mini map let your drag your mouse all the way to the edge of the mini map. Cloaked units are still too invisible. Lag still seems to be occurring more so than past battle net.
Probably due to L2 latency which is better than old bnet. I think most using don't have UPnP enabled in their routers. The team game thing is more complicated than you think because there are more players involved, more ratings to track, and most importantly a UI for supporting group queues. Other than that they seem to work properly. After the game pops there are nicer graphics and portraits but hitting "Join" to search for a ladder game felt empty. There is no Blizzard streaming as of yet, however SC: Remastered does seem to work with OBS. There are still resolution problems when streaming. Final Thoughts I love Starcraft. I will continue to play and hope that at least some of the issues I've discovered or run into will be addressed.
If anyone has any fixes, updates, workarounds or other issues that I'm unaware of, please share them! Especially for big team games or games with observers. But, now my game is crashing too What commander were you playing? I was playing Dehaka with partner Han and Horner and there were a lot of units on screen. I think the mag mines might need a timer cause there were a ton of them in play.
I convinced a friend to make an account. My account logs in no problem but he keeps getting an error message when trying to log in about bnet being down.
Super frustrating when trying to get a new player on board. SC2 has had crashes that were bit client-specific in the past. So because they can't develop one client well, they set themselves the task of keeping two versions going? I've had the same issue. It is pretty frustrating to be honest.
Hopefully everybody is sending in crash reports so Blizzard can fix this bug. It happened once when I was playing and then again when I was alt-tabbed so I'm not too sure what exactly could be causing this. I've had a crash every game toward the end of coop, still lvl 1 with Han Horner after 5 games: Seems to be happening more often with fast micro situations, Always happens when I'm trying to mass do something. Like a 12 gate way warpin for example. Game like stutters 2 frames then crashes.
Crashed during my placement match with a player two leagues below what I was last season. Happened with me too. I stopped playing after it crashed the third time. Just so you know, I'm playing on Mac. I play on a Mac too but I was playing with a friend who plays on Windows and we were taking turns crashing.
First time I've had crashing issues with SC2. Doesn't seem to be related to anything in particular both happened pretty early game for me.

Pushed off a bunker push, had half the map in creep, tech advantage, everything, and then it crashed. I had this crash during early game and then midgame.

I wasn't microing or in an engagement for either. Hello and welcome to Big Patch Day at Blizzard. Your crashes are almost certainly sending info back to Blizzard by the way. Seeing lots of ppl drop in 4v4, bad FPS and my client just crashed on my third game. This update was probably really rushed in order to meet the F2P launch date.
I'm not even able to launch it. I press the play button in the Blizzard launcher, it says launching, then it goes back to an unclicked Play button. I had to close it including making sure it was closed in the OS not just the window , then relaunch it. The lag is terrible on every game I play now since the patch.
